Francis Jr. & Taurino Win Super Trofeo at Sebring on Debut

Ernie Francis Jr. & teammate Giano Taurino came home with an overall and class win at Sebring in the opening weekend of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American Series. Driving the No. 88 TR3 Lamborghini Huracan Evo 2 supported by Bitlux the pairing started off the weekend with a podium in Race1 finishing second. They jumped one step up the podium on Sunday claiming the win in Race 2. Francis Jr. after inheriting the lead with 15 minutes to go and winning by 3.8 seconds at the finish.

”Being our first weekend together, we were just trying to find our groove,” said Francis Jr. “To be in victory lane is a great way to start the season. My co-driver Giano had a fantastic opening stint to put us in P2. I’m really happy to be here with him and look forward to the rest of the season!”

This being Francis Jr.’s debut in the series and debut with TR3 with teammate Taurino, it marks the start of what hopes to be a very successful season for the pairing. The duo showed great pace throughout the weekend and put themselves in a position to fight for a win both days with consistency.

With their win and podium in both races Francis Jr. and Taurino leave the opening round of Super Trofeo with the points lead in the Pro class. A fantastic way to start the year with some momentum for the TR3 team to carry forward.
